    Nasdaq Stockholm Through the Years

    • 1863 – Stockholms Fondbörs (Stockholm Securities Exchange) is founded.
    • 1918 – The Stockholm Stock Exchange becomes the world’s quietest exchange with an electromechanical quotation system.
    • 1974 – Begins computerisation; electronic systems replace blackboards in after-hours trading.
    • 1985 – Olof Stenhammar launches OM for options trading, later merging with the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
    • 1986 – OMX Index is introduced.
    • 1989–1990 – Launches SAX, an automated trading system; floor trading ends on 31 May 1990.
    • 1998 – Stockholm Stock Exchange merges with OM Gruppen to form OM Stockholmsbörsen.
    • 2004–2006 – OM expands across the Nordics and Baltics, acquiring HEX (Helsinki), Tallinn, Riga Vilnius, Copenhagen, and Iceland exchanges.
    • 2006 – Launches Nordic First North Market, evolving from Nya Marknaden.
    • 2008 – Nasdaq and OMX AB complete their merger, forming Nasdaq OMX.
    • 2015 – Nasdaq Stockholm launches the world’s first Sustainable Bond Market.
    • 2021 – Acquires majority ownership in carbon removal platform Puro.earth.
