How to Become a Member

All participation on the Nasdaq Derivatives Markets is performed through its members. Follow the step-by-step description on how to obtain a membership at Nasdaq Derivatives Markets.

1. Contact Us

Please contact us to learn more about our markets and the membership process. You are welcome to contacting us by sending an email to NordicSalesTeam@nasdaq.com.

2. Sign a Member Portal Administration Appointment Form

To receive a login for the Nasdaq Derivatives application form, we require a signed Member Portal appointment form. The appointment form will be sent to you by our sales team. The appointment form must be signed by a person authorized to sign for your company. Attach documentation that provides due authorization and a list of signatories with signature samples of the signing person(s) and/or copies of official IDs of the signing person(s) such as passports or national IDs. Send the appointment form with attachments to NordicSalesTeam@nasdaq.com.

3. Submit the Membership Application through our Member Portal

Once you have your login, you can access the Member Portal where you will be able to submit your membership Application.

The application and all supporting documents (except Annual reports which are accepted in Swedish, Norwegian or Danish languages) must be provided in English language. In case of translations, both the original and translated versions have to be provided (the translations must be official and in-house translations are not accepted):

  • Annual report for the previous two years signed by auditor
  • Interim report (if existing)
  • Articles of association
  • Copy of the company’s certificate of incorporation (maximum two months old)
  • Documentation evidencing due authorization of the signing person(s) to sign on behalf of the relevant legal entity
  • A list of signatories with signature samples of the signing person(s) and/or copies of official ID of the signing person(s) such as passport or national ID
  • Description of the ownership structure (if part of a group of companies)
  • Copy of relevant authorizations to provide investment services from local FSA

Depending on which membership you are applying for, different forms need to be completed in the Member Portal:

All unregulated applicants are required to complete the Additional Information Form (part of the application form in Member Portal).

For Sanctions Screening review, all applicants are required to complete the following forms (incorporated into membership application forms in Member Portal):

4. Membership Testing of the Genium INET Trading and Clearing System

Make sure you discuss your market access setup and account structure with your Nasdaq membership coordinator. The structure can then be verified in a test environment before go live.

For conformance test of software used towards Nasdaq, please contact Technical Support with team to arrange testing.

6. Education and Authorization of Traders and Back-Office Personnel

Each trading member is required to have a minimum of two authorized traders registered for Genium INET Trading.

7. Member Agreements and Forms to be Completed

Fill in, sign and send documentation to Nasdaq.

8. Get Confirmation and Start Trading and Clearing at Nasdaq

Trading and clearing can start when all agreements and forms have been approved by Nasdaq, technical access has been established and a start date has been agreed on.
