Phil is the Head of Board Advisory in the Americas and Asia-Pacific regions at Nasdaq. In his role, Phil advises boards and executive management teams at public, private, and non-profit organisations. Phil leverages his experience to help organisations address board composition and effectiveness, strategic alignment with management, and other corporate governance and compliance matters. Phil was president, board member, and founding investor/advisor of the Centre for Board Excellence (CBE), which was acquired by Nasdaq in 2019. Prior to that, Phil held several senior leadership positions at public and private companies, including Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary roles. 

Phil obtained his J.D. from the University of Virginia and his B.A. from the University of Washington. Phil is a member of the Washington State Bar.

James is the Head of Board Advisory in the Europe, Middle East, & Africa regions at Nasdaq. Based in London, James is a governance and board effectiveness specialist with over 13 years of experience working with some of the world's largest and most complex organisations. Based in London, James is a governance and board effectiveness specialist with over 13 years of experience working with some of the world's largest and most complex organizations.

James joined Nasdaq from Deloitte, where he spent eight years in governance advisory, latterly as a director leading on board effectiveness and wider governance transformation activities. Throughout that time he supported boards through reviewing effectiveness and performance, as well as designing and implementing appropriate actions to take boards forward on their effectiveness journeys.

James holds a Master's degree in Global Governance and Ethics from University College London (UCL).
