Jennifer is the owner of one of Australia’s oldest corporate governance firms, Board Matters. She is a practicing lawyer, governance advisor and company director. Over the past 20 years, she has sat on or chaired a number of boards. Her board appointments include statutory bodies, public authorities, an APRA-regulated superannuation fund, an ASIC-regulated financial planning entity and several not-for-profit organizations. Jennifer has a long history of being appointed as an independent director on many boards. This includes being the first non-pilot director on the board of Brisbane Marine Pilots in its 30-year history, an expert member on the Work, Health and Safety Board Queensland and she was the first independent member of the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Board (at the time a billion dollar enterprise). She is known for her practical, values-based approach to governance and has played a pivotal role in driving boardroom reform and accountability across diverse sectors as a director and advisor. Her firm, Board Matters, is recognized for translating complex governance obligations into actionable, board-level strategies. As a recognized thought leader in corporate governance. Jennifer regularly contributes to industry dialogue through keynote speaking, academic teaching, and published commentary.
