In early trading on Friday, shares of Applied Materials topped the list of the day's best performing components of the S&P 500 index, trading up 13.4%. Year to date, Applied Materials, registers a 44.9% gain.
And the worst performing S&P 500 component thus far on the day is Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, trading down 9.0%. Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings is lower by about 5.2% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Expedia Group, trading down 7.2%, and Moderna, trading up 8.3% on the day.
