Smiths Group plc has announced the appointment of Alister Cowan as an independent non-executive Director and member of the Audit & Risk Committee, effective from 1 July 2024. Cowan, with extensive experience in the energy and chemical sectors from his previous roles, including as CFO of Suncor Energy Inc., is expected to provide valuable insights to Smiths Group. His diverse international background and financial expertise are anticipated to greatly benefit the company’s board discussions.
