March Performance Report: Gold Pushes Through Amid Widespread Volatility
Overall, March saw broadly negative performance across most markets and indexes. The Nasdaq Commodity Gold ER (NQCIGCER) Index was one of only a few indexes to show positive growth on the month with a gain of 1.6%.
Of those that struggled, the Nasdaq Commodity Crude Oil ER (NQCICLER) Index took the sharpest decline at -54.4%, its worst month since October 2008, capping off its worst quarter ever. Indexes across markets suffered as a reaction to demand shocks from the global Coronavirus crisis.
