In early trading on Thursday, shares of Procter & Gamble topped the list of the day's best performing Dow Jones Industrial Average components, trading up 2.0%. Year to date, Procter & Gamble registers a 3.9% gain.
And the worst performing Dow component thus far on the day is Merck, trading down 0.9%. Merck is showing a gain of 4.6% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Travelers Companies, trading down 0.6%, and American Express, trading up 1.9% on the day.
