In early trading on Thursday, shares of Caterpillar topped the list of the day's best performing Dow Jones Industrial Average components, trading up 3.5%. Year to date, Caterpillar registers a 72.7% gain.
And the worst performing Dow component thus far on the day is International Business Machines, trading down 5.4%. International Business Machines is lower by about 16.2% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Salesforce, trading down 2.6%, and Home Depot, trading up 2.8% on the day.
