Companhia Paranaense de Energia Pfd ( (ELP) ) just unveiled an update.

Companhia Paranaense de Energia (Copel) has announced an asset swap agreement with Eletrobras. Through this transaction, Copel’s subsidiary, Copel Geração e Transmissão, will acquire Eletrobras’ stakes in the Mauá Hydroelectric Power Plant and the Mata de Santa Genebra transmission company, making Copel the full owner of these assets. In exchange, Copel will transfer its entire ownership of the Colíder Hydroelectric Power Plant to Eletrobras and pay R$ 365 million upon closing. This strategic move is expected to generate immediate synergy gains, streamline operations, and offset tax losses, enhancing Copel’s operational efficiency and financial standing.
