The launched product is a free version of the company's NetScaler CPX, which is a container form factor that can be used by developers to construct microservice applications. The NetScaler platform has been deployed in over 20,000 enterprises and is an industry-leading product globally.
Product Features
The NetScaler CPX Express provides developers with the same enterprise-grade, secure functionality as provided by the NetScaler platform. Notably, the Express product's codebase, REST API, as well as operations interface is same as NetScaler ADC's. This will allow smooth transition of application delivery infrastructure from the point of development to deployment.
The new product features load balancing capabilities, in-service upgrades that will not disrupt microservices, ability to become functional in less than five minutes, real-time visibility coupled with supervision and analytics through NetScaler Management and Analytics System integration. Additionally, the Express product provides enhanced security capabilities like SSL offload, protection from network, transport and application-layer DDoS threat vectors along with API rate limiting for DDOS attack reduction. Other features include service discovery and auto reconfiguration through Google Kebernetes, Docker Swarm and Apache Mesos container management systems.
The product launch highlights Citrix's commitment toward enhancing customer service, innovation and developing competitive products.
