Jim Chen
Senior Vice President, Business Development and M&A
Jim Chen serves as Senior Vice President, Business Development and M&A at Nasdaq. He is responsible for developing and implementing business and financial cases for M&A and divestiture activities, as well as the creation of integration plans. Jim leads Nasdaq’s M&A efforts globally and ensures acquisitions and investments align with Nasdaq’s long-term strategic ambitions and commitment to championing inclusive growth and prosperity.
Prior to joining Nasdaq, Jim served as Director of Corporate Development and Head of Capital Markets at Uber, overseeing its strategic investments portfolio, helping the company reevaluate its capital allocation priorities and fine-tuning its strategic approach to acquisitions and investments. He also served as a Board Member of Uber’s subsidiary, Uber Freight. Before joining Uber, Jim spent 13 years as an investment banker, most recently at Lazard in New York.
Jim holds a Juris Doctor from Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law and a Bachelor of Science from Miami University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a member of both the New York and New Jersey State Bar Associations.
