Introduction

On Saturday September 18th, 2021, Nasdaq Nordic will perform verification tests of the site failover functionality in the Genium INET production environment. The system will be available for Nasdaq Exchange and Clearing members for login and standard reference data and business queries. No other type of business functionality will be enabled. Members are recommended to take advantage of this opportunity to test their connectivity and ability to failover from the Nasdaq site A (VASBY) datacenter to the Nasdaq site B (PORT) datacenter. Please note that only members that have connectivity to site B can participate in this test. Time plan (CEST)

10:00-11:00 Genium INET system available for login in the normal configuration 11:00-13:00 Failover from site A to site B, system unavailable 13:00-14:00 Failover completed, and member login enabled to site B 14:00 Test completed, Genium INET system shutdown

Execution

10:00-11:00 CEST The Genium INET system will be available for login in normal configuration with site A being the primary site, allowing OMnet and ITCH connectivity via both site A and site B, and FIX via site A. The markets will be in closed state, with login allowed and business queries enabled. Markets will remain closed throughout the test.

Expected action: Login to your primary address on site A. 11:00-13:00 CEST A controlled failover from site A to site B will be performed, simulating a complete loss of Genium INET on site A. All accessibility to Genium INET will hence be disabled until the failover to site B has been completed. Please note that network connectivity still remains active to site A datacenter to prevent impact for customers connecting to other Nasdaq services located at site A. The failover activities are estimated to be completed at 13:00 CEST at latest, from which time login will be available on site B only.

Expected action: Prepare the redirection of your connections to site B. No logins allowed before the failover has been completed.

13:00-14:00 CEST Login will be available on site B only. Site A unavailable.

Expected action: Login to your failover address on site B.

14:00 CEST Test completed, the Genium INET system will be shut down and configuration restored to normal weekend operation.

Expected action: Restore your connections to normal configuration.

Please report your results to riitta.pesio@nasdaq.com after completed test. Alternatively, you can report the results via Nasdaq Member Portal.

NEW! Members that would like to test failback to site A are recommended to do so on Sunday September 19th when the system will be available according to ordinary weekend schedule. Nasdaq Technical Support will be available for support queries during 11:00-12:00 CEST via technicalsupport@nasdaq.com or +46 8 405 6750.
