Wednesday 12/11 Insider Buying Report: TREE, SRBK

As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.

At LendingTree, a filing with the SEC revealed that on Friday, Chief Technology Officer Scott V. Totman purchased 3,750 shares of TREE, for a cost of $38.59 each, for a total investment of $144,725. Totman was up about 9.5% on the buy at the high point of today's trading session, with TREE trading as high as $42.27 in trading on Wednesday. LendingTree Inc is trading up about 0.1% on the day Wednesday.

And on Monday, Executive Chair David M. Orbach purchased $117,467 worth of SR Bancorp, purchasing 10,000 shares at a cost of $11.75 a piece. Before this latest buy, Orbach bought SRBK on 2 other occasions during the past twelve months, for a total cost of $294,325 at an average of $9.34 per share. SR Bancorp is trading up about 0.8% on the day Wednesday. Orbach was up about 3.4% on the purchase at the high point of today's trading session, with SRBK trading as high as $12.15 at last check today.
