U.S. Private Sector Employment Climbs More Than Expected In March

(RTTNews) - Private sector employment in the U.S. increased by more than expected in the month of March, according to a report released by payroll processor ADP on Wednesday.

ADP said private sector employment grew by 62,000 jobs in March after climbing by an upwardly revised 66,000 jobs in February.

Economists had expected private sector employment to rise by 40,000 jobs compared to the addition of 63,000 jobs originally reported for the previous month.

"Overall hiring is steady, but job growth continues to favor certain industries, including health care," said ADP chief economist Dr. Nela Richardson. "In March, this solid performance was accompanied by a boost in pay gains for job-changers."
