In early trading on Friday, shares of Meta Platforms topped the list of the day's best performing components of the S&P 500 index, trading up 17.4%. Year to date, Meta Platforms registers a 31.0% gain.
And the worst performing S&P 500 component thus far on the day is Charter Communications, trading down 11.8%. Charter Communications is lower by about 13.2% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Gen Digital, trading down 11.0%, and Amazon.com, trading up 7.3% on the day.
