In early trading on Friday, shares of Monster Beverage topped the list of the day's best performing components of the S&P 500 index, trading up 9.7%. Year to date, Monster Beverage registers a 26.8% gain.
And the worst performing S&P 500 component thus far on the day is The Trade Desk, trading down 37.3%. The Trade Desk is lower by about 52.9% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Microchip Technology, trading down 7.0%, and Gilead Sciences, trading up 9.5% on the day.
