In early trading on Tuesday, shares of Dollar Tree ( DLTR ) topped the list of the day's best performing components of the S&P 500 index, trading up 10.2%. Year to date, Dollar Tree registers a 17.0% gain.
And the worst performing S&P 500 component thus far on the day is Patterson Companies ( PDCO ), trading down 22.1%. Patterson Companies is lower by about 18.2% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Medtronic ( MDT ), trading down 8.2%, and Signet Jewelers ( SIG ), trading up 7.2% on the day.
