In early trading on Tuesday, shares of Mallinckrodt ( MNK ) topped the list of the day's best performing components of the S&P 500 index, trading up 3.8%. Year to date, Mallinckrodt has lost about 13.6% of its value.
And the worst performing S&P 500 component thus far on the day is Mylan ( MYL ), trading down 2.2%. Mylan is lower by about 0.4% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Carmax ( KMX ), trading down 2.1%, and Western Digital ( WDC ), trading up 3.3% on the day.
