In early trading on Wednesday, shares of AES topped the list of the day's best performing components of the S&P 500 index, trading up 15.3%. Year to date, AES has lost about 0.8% of its value.
And the worst performing S&P 500 component thus far on the day is Altria Group, trading down 1.8%. Altria Group is showing a gain of 11.8% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Monster Beverage, trading down 1.8%, and Boeing, trading up 3.6% on the day.
