In early trading on Wednesday, shares of Intel topped the list of the day's best performing components of the S&P 500 index, trading up 5.1%. Year to date, Intel registers a 14.1% gain.
And the worst performing S&P 500 component thus far on the day is First Solar, trading down 8.2%. First Solar is lower by about 5.6% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Western Digital, trading down 7.5%, and Valero Energy, trading up 4.3% on the day.
