Credit: Shutterstock photoPPG Industries ' PPG coil and building products group has announced the launch of Duraform BP coating, a next-generation polyester coil coating engineered specifically for building product makers.
Duraform BP coating is formulated with PPG's proprietary star-shaped polyester polymer to increase forming flexibility as well as resistance to color fading, chalk, dirt and stains. The coating has a unique chemical structure which allows it to outperform traditional polyester coatings, particularly through its bonding strength with aluminum and galvanized steel.
Designed for one-coat application over aluminum or two-coat application over aluminum or hot-dipped galvanized steel, Duraform BP coating provides a higher grade of coating quality to value-driven building product manufacturers.
PPG Industries' shares rose roughly 2.6% to close at $106.61 on Monday.
Recently, PPG Industries' automotive refinish business announced the launch of Deltron DPS3105 V-PRIME quick prime urethane surfacer. A gray speed primer designed for spot and panel repairs.
The primer surfacer, which is easy to apply and sand, provides excellent firm build of 2-2.5 dry mils per coat, dry-to-sand times of as little as 30 minutes and outstanding resistance to film shrinkage. It is rollable, can be wet-sanded, and facilitates direct application of a basecoat.
Moreover, DPS3105 can be utilized with Deltron DCX3030 Hardener as well as the new DCX3035 High Temperature Hardener. It is a valuable addition to the Deltron brand. DPS3105 provides the customers with fast air-dry performance for exceptional cycle-time efficiency with high-quality results.
