Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with unusual option activity on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.
Bank of New York Mellon (BK): Some 3,000 Weekly 37 puts expiring today, March 24, were sold for $0.23 to $0.13. The activity reflects a belief near-term downside will be limited in the name. BK fell 1 percent to $37.15.
Synergy Pharmaceuticals (SGYP): Approximately 2,400 May 3 calls were sold, mostly for $0.30, as investors looked to earn premium against the shares. SGYP rose 10 percent to $2.89
AK Steel (AKS): A trader bought 4,500 May 4 calls for $0.58 and sold an equal number of April 4s for $0.38. Volume was below open interest in the shorter-dated contracts, which indicates a bullish position was rolled forward in time. AKS rose 0.61 percent to $4.11.
