
Notable option activity in equity names
Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with unusual option activity on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.
Viacom (VIAB): A trader bought 15,799 June 45 calls for $0.85 to $0.90 and sold 31,538 June 50 calls for $0.25. Known as a ratio spread, the strategy will leverage a move to $50 by expiration, with gains eroding above that level. VIAB rose 3.23 percent to $37.40.
Walter Investment (WAC): More than 5,000 March9 calls were bought for $0.20 to $0.40 as investors positioned for upside in the share price. WAC fell 12 percent to $7.55.
Hartford Financial (HIG): Some 20,000 March 21 puts were sold for $0.03 as traders bet downside will be limited in the insurance stock. HIG slid 0.34 percent to $42.69.
