Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with unusual option activity on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.
Century Aluminum (CENX): About 2,800 March 7 calls were sold for $0.48 as investors bet upside will be limited in the metals company. CENX rose 4.87 percent to $6.68.
Swift Transportation (SWFT): About 3,500 March 17 calls were sold for $0.95 and $1. Volume was below open interest at the strike, so an existing position may have been closed. SWFT fell 1.64 percent to $17.40.
Marathon Petroleum (MPC): A block of 15,000 July 37.50 calls was bought for $2.25 and 30,000 July 45 calls were sold for $0.55. Known as a ratio spread, the trade will leverage a move to $45, with profits eroding above that level. MPC rose 0.47 percent to $34.13.
