Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with unusual option activity on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.
Cerus (CERS): About 2,500 August 7 calls were sold, mostly for $0.72, as investors took profits amid a sharp rally in the maker of blood-treatment systems. CERS rose 8.96 percent to $6.20.
Novartis (NVS): Almost 2,300 February 82.50 calls were sold for $0.06 but volume was below open interest at the strike. NVS fell 1.06 percent to $72.40.
Alcoa (AA): A block of 10,000 June 8 puts was bought for $1.07 as investors braced for downside in the share price. AA fell 2.91 percent to $7.67.
