Notable option activity in equity names

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with unusual option activity on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

Bonanza Greek Energy (BCIE): More than 11,000 April 2.50 puts were bought for $0.85 to $1 as traders braced for further downside in the Denver-based oil and gas producer. BCEI fell 9.81 percent to $2.44.

General Motors (GM): A block of 20,000 January 30 calls was sold for $2.24. Volume was below open interest at the strike, so an existing position may have been closed. GM fell 1.30 percent to $28.17.

Royal Bank of Canada (RY): About 5,800 March 50 puts were bought, mostly for $2 to $2.10, a reflection of bearish sentiment in the name. RY fell 2.40 percent to $49.94. (See full story )
