Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with unusual option activity on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.
Staples (SPLS): An investor sold 10,000 March 16 calls, mostly for $0.30, and bought an equal number of December 12.50 calls for $0.50. Volume was below open interest in the March contracts, which suggests an existing position was rolled closer to the money and closer in time. SPLS rose 1.76 percent to $12.17. Brookdale Senior Living (BKD): An investor bought 2,750 January 22.50 calls for $0.75 and sold 5,500 January 25 calls for $0.25. The ratio spread cost $0.25 and will earn 900 percent if the real-estate stock closes at $25 on expiration. Gains erode over that level. BKD fell 1.49 percent to $21.16.
Golar GLNG (GLNG): Traders sold 5,000 December 25 puts, mostly for $2.70, earning more than 60 percent on contracts purchased in late October . GLNG fell 3.80 percent to $22.79.
