Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with unusual option activity on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.
Medtronic (MDT): Almost 20,000 January 77.50 calls were bought, mostly for $2.20. Volume was below open interest at the strike, so it's possible an existing covered call was unwound as traders gave the medical-device stock room to run. MDT rose 2.69 percent to $78.16.

Nuance Communications (NUAN): Almost 7,000 December 21 calls traded, mostly for $1.05, but volume was below previous positioning. NUAN rose 1.03 percent to $21.67.
