In early trading on Friday, shares of Maxim Integrated Products topped the list of the day's best performing components of the Nasdaq 100 index, trading up 7.1%. Year to date, Maxim Integrated Products registers a 16.5% gain.
And the worst performing Nasdaq 100 component thus far on the day is Starbucks, trading down 4.3%. Starbucks is showing a gain of 0.8% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Charter Communications, trading down 3.6%, and KLA-Tencor, trading up 4.0% on the day.
