Monday 6/24 Insider Buying Report: VRE, MNPR

As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.

At Veris Residential, a filing with the SEC revealed that on Thursday, Nori Gerardo Lietz bought 10,000 shares of VRE, at a cost of $14.31 each, for a total investment of $143,100. So far Lietz is in the green, up about 3.1% on their purchase based on today's trading high of $14.75. Veris Residential is trading up about 0.8% on the day Monday.

And also on Thursday, Chief Operating Officer Andrew Cittadine purchased $25,574 worth of Monopar Therapeutics, purchasing 32,508 shares at a cost of $0.79 a piece. Before this latest buy, Cittadine purchased MNPR at 2 other times during the past year, for a total cost of $51,374 at an average of $0.86 per share. Monopar Therapeutics is trading up about 13% on the day Monday. Bargain hunters can snag MNPR at a price even lower than Cittadine did, with shares changing hands as low as $0.70 in trading on Monday -- that's 10.9% under Cittadine's purchase price.
