Monday 12/23 Insider Buying Report: CNC, FPI

As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.

At Centene, a filing with the SEC revealed that on Wednesday, Director Thomas Greco bought 17,000 shares of CNC, for a cost of $59.75 each, for a total investment of $1.02M. Bargain hunters can grab CNC at a price even lower than Greco did, with the stock changing hands as low as $58.88 in trading on Monday -- that's 1.5% under Greco's purchase price. Centene is trading down about 0.7% on the day Monday. This buy marks the first one filed by Greco in the past year.

And on Thursday, Director John A. Good bought $183,516 worth of Farmland Partners, buying 15,000 shares at a cost of $12.23 each. Before this latest buy, Good made one other purchase in the past year, buying $243,574 shares for a cost of $10.15 each. Farmland Partners is trading up about 1.2% on the day Monday. Investors have the opportunity to snag FPI at a price even lower than Good did, with the stock trading as low as $11.15 in trading on Monday which is 8.9% under Good's purchase price.
