Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.
Gap (GPS): more than 12,000 March 25 calls were bought for $0.14 to $0.16 as investors look for upside in the shares. GPS rose 0.67 percent to $23.55.
Microsoft (MSFT): More than 8,000 contracts traded in the January 32.50 puts, mixed between buying and selling, but volume was below open interest. MSFT fell 0.25 percent to $31.79.
Western Digital (WDC): Almost 5,800 March 44 calls were purchased for $0.53 to $0.57 as traders looked for the stock to continue climbing over the next two weeks. WDC rose 1.80 percent to $40.09.
Micron Technology (MU): About 6,500 January 10 puts were bought for $2.19 to $2.23 as investors seek protection on the stock over the course of the year. The January 12.50 calls were also bought, but volume was below open interest. MU fell 0.79 percent to $8.81.
