Today's key data releases are jobless claims, personal income, and personal spending.
All three reports will come out at 8:30 a.m. ET. Economists expect claims of 310,000, down from 312,000 in the previous week. Personal income and spending are both forecast to rise 0.4 percent. Incomes increased 0.3 percent the previous month while spending fell 0.1 percent.
Natural-gas inventories round out the agenda at 10:30 a.m. ET.
Accenture, ConAgra, and Lennar report earnings before the opening bell. Nike follows after the close.
The main events tomorrow are several European sentiment reports early in the session.
Next week is busy, with European inflation on Monday and key manufacturing data on Tuesday. Important job numbers come out Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
