FlexNet system is a long-range point-to-multi-point radio network for enabling advanced communications. Combined with GE's I-210+c electric meter, it will benefit the overall industry by delivering operational efficiency and reliability of service. Electric utilities using the FlexNet communication network can support multiple applications. General Electric's smart meters are Underwriters Laboratory (UL) 2735-certified and offer utilities extra leverage surrounding the safety and functionality of their metering system.
The collaboration will enable General Electric's meters to meet energy requirements and identify and restore power outages, thus benefiting the end users. As a result, electric utilities will deliver accuracy, reliability and premium service to their consumer.
