In early trading on Friday, shares of Verizon Communications topped the list of the day's best performing Dow Jones Industrial Average components, trading up 6.7%. Year to date, Verizon Communications registers a 4.3% gain.
And the worst performing Dow component thus far on the day is International Business Machines, trading down 2.3%. International Business Machines Corp is showing a gain of 2.0% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are American Express, trading down 2.1%, and Merck, trading up 0.8% on the day.
