In early trading on Wednesday, shares of McDonald's ( MCD ) topped the list of the day's best performing Dow Jones Industrial Average components, trading up 1.5%. Year to date, McDonald's has lost about 7.3% of its value.
And the worst performing Dow component thus far on the day is General Electric ( GE ), trading down 0.8%. General Electric is lower by about 16.2% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Verizon Communications ( VZ ), trading down 0.4%, and Caterpillar ( CAT ), trading up 1.0% on the day.
