In early trading on Friday, shares of Verizon Communications topped the list of the day's best performing Dow Jones Industrial Average components, trading up 2.8%. Year to date, Verizon Communications registers a 0.7% gain.
And the worst performing Dow component thus far on the day is American Express, trading down 2.0%. American Express is showing a gain of 7.6% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Nike, trading down 0.9%, and Chevron, trading up 0.9% on the day.
