Dell Inc. has agreed to sell its IT service business to Japan-based Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp (ADR)'s ( NTT ) NTT Data for $3 billion.

The comapny's decision to sell its IT service for $3 billion is reportedly less than what it wanted. It's believe the company was seeking $5 billion to $6 billion for the division, which it bought back in 2009 for $3.9 billion.

NTT is interested in Dell's IT division to help it expand its services to new areas. Dell is reportedly looking to make some fast cash as it looks to offset debt from its agreement to acquire EMC Corporation ( EMC ) for $67 billion, reports Tech Crunch.

Dell is also interested in selling other companies to prepare for the EMC acquisition. This includes Quest Software and SonicWall, which it's reportedly hoping to get $4 billion out of, USA Today notes.
