CNBC and Nasdaq have announced that starting January 3, 2017, “Squawk Box” will broadcast from the Nasdaq MarketSite studio in Times Square.
Anchored by Joe Kernen, Becky Quick, and Andrew Ross Sorkin, “Squawk Box” hosts the biggest names in business and investing each week day starting at 6:00 a.m. With this move, the show will broadcast in front of Nasdaq’s dynamic 96-screen video wall from its iconic MarketSite studio located at 4 Times Square.
Speaking about the new home for “Squawk Box,” Bob Greifeld, CEO, Nasdaq said, “The Nasdaq MarketSite studio has become the home, not only to our listed companies and major organizations, but to leading broadcast outlets around the world. Since its debut in 1995, ‘Squawk Box’ has become the must-watch pre-market show on television, revolutionizing the way that market news is being told. By reporting from the MarketSite, ‘Squawk Box’ is able to give its viewers a unique perspective on the day’s events directly from the market that is the home to the world's biggest, most innovative and influential companies in the world.”
Nasdaq MarketSite studio is a daily whirl of activity which includes the daily Market Open and Close, IPO ceremonies and is home to many business journalists reporting on day-to-day market developments. Most recently, the studio and the facilities have greeted Olympic medalists, Members of Congress, Nasdaq-listed companies, Fortune 500 CEOs, and a variety of non-profit organizations that utilize the space to promote their efforts to help others.
