VERAXA Biotech And Secarna Pharma Post Positive In Vitro Study Update In AOC Alliance

(RTTNews) - VERAXA Biotech AG (VRXA) and Secarna Pharmaceuticals GmbH & Co. KG announced initial positive results from in vitro studies under their strategic research collaboration to develop antibody-oligonucleotide conjugates (AOCs) for the treatment of autoimmune and chronic immune diseases.

AOCs combine the specificity of monoclonal antibodies with the functional versatility of oligonucleotides.

As part of the collaboration, Secarna leverages its proprietary, AI-empowered OligoCreator discovery and development platform to identify promising oligonucleotide candidates, applying antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) and siRNA strategies, while VERAXA will leverage its click-chemistry conjugation platform to design and generate AOCs.

According to the company, in vitro studies showed that an AOC candidate, developed by combining both parties' technologies, demonstrated greater potency than the equivalent unconjugated, naked oligonucleotide, reflecting potential for a future therapeutic approach.

Supported by the results, both parties are currently discussing the next steps in this alliance.

VRXA has traded between $1.7000 and $27.36 over the last year. The stock closed Friday's trade at $1.95.

VRXA is currently down 1.02% at $1.93.
