Beam Therapeutics Appoints Former Ardelyx Executive Eric Foster As CCO

(RTTNews) - Beam Therapeutics Inc. (BEAM), a biotechnology company developing precision genetic medicines, announced the appointment of Eric Foster as chief commercial officer.

Beam Therapeutics develops precision genetic medicines based on its proprietary base editing technology.

The company's investigational candidates include BEAM-302 for alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD), BEAM-304 for phenylketonuria (PKU), BEAM-301 for glycogen storage disease type Ia (GSDIa) and Risto-cel, formerly known as BEAM-101, for the treatment of sickle cell disease (SCD).

Foster will lead Beam's commercial organization and strategy as the company advances product candidates across its haematology and genetic disease franchises toward potential launches.

Eric Foster most recently served as chief commercial officer at Ardelyx and brings more than 25 years of commercial leadership experience across biotechnology and speciality pharmaceuticals.

Notably, Eric Foster served as senior vice president and U.S. general manager at Amgen following the acquisition of Horizon Therapeutics in October 2023.

"Eric is an exceptional biopharmaceutical leader with a proven track record of building high-performing commercial organizations in speciality and rare disease markets," said John Evans, chief executive officer of Beam Therapeutics.

For the second quarter of 2026, the company's net loss expanded to $122.7 million, or $1.18 per share, from $102.1 million, or $1.00 per share, in the prior year.

Beam expects existing cash and investments as of June 30, 2026, plus an anticipated $200 million draw from its Sixth Street facility, to fund operations into mid-2029, including the anticipated launch of risto-cel in SCD.

Beam has traded between $16.02 and $38.26 over the last year. The stock closed Tuesday's trade at $29.02, down 1.34%.

BEAM is up 1.14% at $29.35 in the overnight market.
