In this episode of Behind the Bell, FOX Sports Broadcaster Curt Menefee speaks to how The UFL is bringing together the best of both the XFL and the USFL.

Do your research, get your information, but sometimes you just got to trust your gut.

What excites me most about the upcoming UFL season— first of all, it's the first, and you rarely get a chance to be a part of something for the first time. But secondly, I think it's really a chance to see the opportunity that's provided to so many players who are just a step away from making it in the NFL or some that have been there and are trying to get back.

But it's not only players, it's officials, it's broadcasters, it's training staff. There's so many people that this provides another opportunity for. I think the UFL in general is going to innovate the space of what we see in football in the next five years. I think audiences, particularly fans, should know that this is different than other leagues that they've seen.

You know, the XFL has been out there, the USFL been a couple of years. And by combining the two leagues together, you get the best of those leagues. I think some of the things I've learned as a broadcaster really apply in life in general. Success is just a degree in perseverance. That's all it is and we're all going to have situations where we stumble or we fall down or we need to try again, what we need to do better.

And the ones that are “successful” are the ones that keep at it, keep at it, keep at it. And so I think that's one thing that you can apply to any aspect of life.
