U.S. Economist and Senior Director at Nasdaq

Michael Normyle is a U.S. Economist and Senior Director at Nasdaq. As part of the Economic Research team, he works with the Chief Economist in helping clients internally and externally understand the market implications of macroeconomic developments and forecasts.

Michael has over 10 years of experience in macroeconomic research. Prior to joining Nasdaq in 2022, he developed expertise in economic cycle forecasting, including business cycles and inflation cycles for the G20 economies, at the Economic Cycle Research Institute (ECRI). His work focused on identifying cyclical and structural economic trends and their implications for monetary policy and for country-specific, regional, and global macroeconomic outlooks.

Between his experience at Nasdaq and ECRI, Michael understands how macroeconomics works in the real economy and how it impacts markets.

Michael has a B.A. in Economics and an M.A. in Applied Economics, both from Johns Hopkins University.
