Volition Validates Nu.Q NETs Biomarker In Sepsis; Stock Down

(RTTNews) - VolitionRx Limited (VNRX) announced landmark clinical validation of its Nu.Q NETs biomarker in sepsis, with findings published in Critical Care Medicine. The study confirmed that, Nu.Q NETs is an independent predictor of 28-day mortality and the need for renal replacement therapy in patients with sepsis and septic shock.

Results showed significantly higher biomarker levels in septic shock compared to sepsis, with a clear relationship to acute kidney injury severity.

Researchers concluded that, Nu.Q NETs could help stratify risk and enable earlier intervention in critically ill patients.

Volition highlighted that, Nu.Q NETs is a simple, low-cost blood test designed to detect diseases linked to NETosis, a process where excessive immune activity can cause tissue damage and organ failure.

The company noted that the biomarker's validation supports ongoing commercial discussions in the $2.8 billion sepsis diagnostics market.

Sepsis remains a major global health challenge, with 166 million cases and over 21 million deaths reported worldwide in 2021. Early detection and risk assessment tools like Nu.Q NETs could improve survival rates and patient outcomes.

The company recently implemented a 1-for-20 reverse stock split on April 28, 2026.

VNRX is currently trading at $0.34, down 10.37%
