Treace Reports Sustained 5-Year Lapiplasty Outcomes, 96.6% Healing With SpeedPlate

(RTTNews) - Treace Medical Concepts (TMCI), a medical technology company focused on surgical treatments for bunions and other foot and ankle conditions, announced results from three clinical studies presented at the 2026 American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) Annual Meeting in Seattle.

The studies evaluated the company's Lapiplasty, a 3D bunion-correction procedure, Adductoplasty, a surgical procedure used alongside Lapiplasty to correct metatarsus adductus, and SpeedPlate technology, a rapid-compression implant system designed to support bone fusion in foot and ankle procedures.

ALIGN3D Study

The prospective, multicenter post-market ALIGN3D study evaluated the Lapiplasty procedure in patients with symptomatic hallux valgus. It assessed correction of the three-dimension bunion deformity and its durability following early weight-bearing. The study enrolled 173 patients across seven U.S. sites, with 137 patients included in the five-year analysis.

The study's primary effectiveness endpoint was radiographic recurrence of hallux valgus.

Patients began weight-bearing in a walking boot at an average of 8.4 days after the procedure. At five years, radiographic recurrence was 0.8 percentage using a Hallux Valgus Angle (HVA) threshold of greater than 20° and 5.3 percentage using greater than 15°.

While patient-reported Manchester-Oxford Foot Questionnaire (MOxFQ) and Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) scores showed clinically significant improvements through five years.

MTA3D Study

MTA3D study evaluated combined Adductoplasty and Lapiplasty procedures in patients requiring correction of metatarsus adductus and hallux valgus. Interim data included 59 patients with at least one year and 35 patients with at least two years of follow-up, from a study involving up to 66 patients.

Patients began weight-bearing in a walking boot at an average of 7.6 days, with radiographic correction of midfoot and three-dimensional bunion deformities maintained through 24 months. Pain and patient-reported Visual Analog Scale (VAS), MOxFQ and PROMIS scores also improved through 24 months.

SPRINT SpeedPlate Study

The one-year, multicenter SPRINT observational study evaluated SpeedPlate Rapid Compression Implants in patients undergoing MTP and/or TMT joint arthrodesis. The primary effectiveness endpoint is clinical/radiographic healing rates at 12 months. The final analysis included 89 of 91 patients.

Weight-bearing in a walking boot began at an average of 9 days, while 96.6% of patients achieved clinical and radiographic healing at 12 months. Radiographic measures of hallux valgus correction also improved at six weeks and remained improved through one year.

On Friday (18.09.2026), TMCI trade closed at $4.49, down 0.88%.

In the after-hours market, shares are up 3.25% at $4.63.
