In early trading on Wednesday, shares of Valero Energy topped the list of the day's best performing components of the S&P 500 index, trading up 4.1%. Year to date, Valero Energy registers a 70.3% gain.
And the worst performing S&P 500 component thus far on the day is Smurfit Westrock, trading down 6.6%. Smurfit Westrock is showing a gain of 8.7% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Moderna, trading down 4.6%, and Bunge Global, trading up 4.0% on the day.
