Silexion Posts Wider Q2 Loss On Higher SIL-204 Development Costs

(RTTNews) - Silexion Therapeutics Corp (SLXN) a clinical-stage biotech company, posted its second quarter financial results, reflecting a wider net loss compared with the prior-year quarter, due to higher operating expenses.

Company Profile

Silexion Therapeutics is focused on developing RNA interference (RNAi) therapies for KRAS-driven cancers, particularly pancreatic cancer. Its lead candidate, SIL-204, is an intratumoral, extended-release pan-KRAS RNA silencer being evaluated in a Phase 2/3 trial for locally advanced pancreatic cancer.

Q2 Financial Highlights

For the quarter, Silexion recorded a net loss of $3.55 million, wider than the loss of $2.50 million in the prior year. On a per share basis, diluted loss was $5.17 compared to $43.19 a year ago.

The loss expanded due to higher research and development expenses of $2.21 million from previous year quarter. The increase was mainly driven by higher subcontractor and consultant expenses related to preparations for the Phase 2/3 trial, which began in July 2026.

General and administrative expenditure climbed to $1.47 million from $1.27 million in 2025.

Clinical Update

Silexion initiated its Phase 2/3 trial of SIL-204 in locally advanced pancreatic cancer at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center in July 2026, following regulatory approvals in Israel and Germany.

Additionally, the company also commenced GMP clinical supply manufacturing of SIL-204 with a global CMDO to support the Phase 2/3 study.

New preclinical data showed increased MHC-1 and FAS expression and reduced HLA-G across four KRAS mutations, supporting potential combination of SIL-204 with anti-PD-(L)1 checkpoint inhibitors.

Corporate Highlight

In August, the company closed a public offering, generating approximately $2.5 million in gross proceeds.

The company also completed several capital-structure transactions, including warrant exercises, ATM share sales, partial conversions of its related-party promissory note and a 1-for-10 reverse share split effected in May 2026.

Following the financing activities, Silexion estimated adjusted shareholders' equity at approximately $3.2 million, above Nasdaq's $2.5 million minimum requirement, and said it believes it has restored compliance.

Cash Position

As of June 30, 2026, Cash, cash equivalents, and restricted cash amounted to $2.26 million.

SLXN has traded between $0.35 and $77.70 over the past 52-week period.

Silexion shares closed Thursday at $0.35, up 0.11%.

The shares are currently trading up 1.82% at $0.35.
