Semtech To Sell Cellular Module Business To Compal Electronics In $62 Mln Cash Deal

(RTTNews) - Semtech Corp. (SMTC) a provider of high-performance semiconductors, on Thursday announced that it has agreed to sell its cellular module business to Taiwan's Compal Electronics Inc. (2324.TW) for $62 million in cash.

Under the terms, Compal will acquire substantially all assets and operations of the cellular module unit, including intellectual property, customer relationships, and personnel.

The transaction, approved by both the boards, is expected to close during the fourth quarter of Semtech's fiscal 2027.

UBS Investment Bank acted as financial advisor, while O'Melveny & Myers LLP served as legal counsel.

In pre-market activity on the Nasdaq, shares of Semtech were down 0.07 percent, changing hands at $139.90, after closing Wednesday's regular session 6.72 percent higher.
