RINVOQ Drives Continued Skin Repigmentation Through Week 76 In AbbVie Studies

(RTTNews) - AbbVie (ABBV) presented long-term data from the Phase 3 Viti-Up-1 and Viti-Up-2 studies showing continued facial and total-body repigmentation with RINVOQ (upadacitinib) in patients with non-segmental vitiligo at the 2026 European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) Congress.

The studies showed that among patients continuing RINVOQ 15 mg once daily, the proportion achieving facial and total-body repigmentation continued to increase through Week 76. The safety profile remained consistent with previous clinical experience, with no new safety signals reported.

Non-Segmental Vitiligo & RINVOQ

Non-segmental vitiligo is a chronic autoimmune condition that causes loss of skin pigmentation across different areas of the body. RINVOQ is a selective and reversible JAK inhibitor and is approved in the European Union for adults and adolescents 12 years and older with non-segmental vitiligo who are candidates for systemic therapy.

Long-Term Repigmentation

In Viti-Up-1, the proportion of patients achieving at least 75% facial repigmentation increased from 33.1% at Week 48 to 55.1% at Week 76. The proportion achieving at least 50% total-body repigmentation increased from 29.2% to 42.5%.

In Viti-Up-2, F-VASI 75 responses increased from 27.6% at Week 48 to 47.4% at Week 76, while T-VASI 50 responses increased from 26.2% to 40.1%.

RINVOQ Plus NB-UVB Phototherapy

An 84-patient phototherapy substudy evaluated RINVOQ alone or in combination with whole-body narrowband ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) phototherapy for 28 weeks.

Among patients previously treated with RINVOQ, F-VASI 75 and T-VASI 50 responses were 59.3% and 63.0%, respectively, with RINVOQ plus NB-UVB, compared with 37.0% and 33.3% with RINVOQ alone.

Safety Data Safety results through Week 76 were consistent with the known safety profile of RINVOQ, with no new safety signals reported.

The company said the findings provide additional long-term data on repigmentation with continued RINVOQ treatment and early data supporting further investigation of combination treatment with NB-UVB phototherapy.

Currently, ABBV is trading at $259.87, down 0.68%.
